Peer support
If you’re living with HIV, you’re not alone. Across London, there are people who share or empathise with your experiences. People who understand. People who can help.
What is peer support?
Peer support means connecting with others who are also living with HIV. It’s a space to talk, ask questions, get advice, share experiences—or just listen. Whether you’ve just been diagnosed or have been living with HIV for years, peer support can help you feel more confident, more informed, and more connected.
Many peer support services also offer practical help—like navigating the healthcare system, understanding your medication, and living well with HIV. Some can also support you with wider issues like housing, immigration, benefits, and finances. There are also peer support groups where you can share your experiences, or listen to those of others.
Find the support that's right for you
There are lots of options across London. Some organisations and groups are open to everyone. Others are for specific communities so you can find the space that feels right for you. We’ve shared just some of the options available. You’ll see some groups mentioned a few times, because they offer services to various communities.
