Men's Health
Although the community has made great strides around HIV prevention, gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (GBMSM) remain disproportionately affected. Let’s change that.
Take charge of your health
GBMSM continue to represent the largest group affected by HIV in the UK, with 33% of these diagnoses being among men from ethnic minority groups. Testing rates are rising, but access barriers and stigma still prevent many from knowing their status or accessing important prevention tools like PrEP and PEP.

How often should I test?
GBMSM are generally advised to test for HIV every 3 months if having sex without condoms with new or multiple partners. At a minimum, testing is encouraged once a year. Regular testing is a key part of staying healthy and protecting your community.
Test with the team
The London HIV Prevention Programme (us) know how important it is to have services that reach you where you are. That’s why we commission the GMI Partnership – made up of METRO Charity, Positive East and Spectra – to provide HIV and STI testing, free condoms and lube, and other prevention services to gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men in London.
Their teams can be found in bars, clubs, saunas and at events like Mighty Hoopla and Black Pride across London. The team are trained and ready to chat with you about everything sexual health – whether that’s HIV and STI prevention, PrEP, PEP, vaccinations and HIV treatment.
